In 1951, 50 women gathered in the ballroom of the Occidental Hotel, electing Mrs. Geraldine Beach as the first president of the WDCC, and discussed how they could make a “positive difference in the community”. Their legacy of meeting the ever-changing needs of our community continues to this day.
Fifty years later in 2021, our 200+ members continued “Making a Difference”, and will forever do so. The WDCC is admired and respected throughout the community - and beyond - because of our outstanding members.
What an honor to be called an Original Disrupter! The women who formed the WDCC back in 1951 had a vision for a better community for everyone. Despite the restrictions of the times, they boldly moved forward and empowered others to join them. They didn’t let anyone or anything stop them. We are proud to carry on their legacy.
Past Presidents…the women who paved the way!
Women’s Division Chamber of Commerce (WDCC) is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization founded in 1951 to promote our community and create civic awareness. Today, this group of over 200 women continues that legacy by working together to make a difference. WDCC holds several annual events and granted more than $291,904.70 to local non-profit organizations and area projects this past year.
